Thank you for hanging with me on updates - they don't come as often as before because there is not as much daily change. This is good in some ways but I wish there was more daily improvement to report.  There is constant improvement - it will just take much time. Terry was hoping to have his other surgery by the end of the year since he has met his insurance deductible for this year but the infection level must go down more and the hemoglobin level must come up more before that will be possible. Meeting the insurance Deductible. again will be hard so keep things like this in mind if you want to know what you can do to help especially knowing that it will still be some time before he can work again.  Physical therapy is still coming to the house and will come again today. Hopefully Terry can get some good workout today but this morning he had a weird loud pop in his leg at the knee area with instant nauseating pain. The pain subsided some but was still aching a while later. Blood work was done this morning but it will be Thursday when he goes to the doctor to find out the results. I will let you know how all of this is going as I find out.....   Keep the whole family in your prayers.

Tuesday 9:15 PM   Today has not been a good day for Terry. As I mentioned in the earlier post, Terry had a pop in his leg yesterday. It swelled up real and last night he started running a fever again. He has been in mega pain and throwing up. He did go to the doctor today but it was not his regular doctor and they did an X - Ray but didn't see anything right off. They couldn't offer any explanation about the high fever and he is still running a fever. They are both very distressed - He does have an appointment Thursday with the infectious disease doctor so for now they are trying to hold out until then.     Please pray hard - It is scary for them.

New information...  When Terry went to the doctor he found out that his infection level is back up to near 30. It had gotten down to 9 and they wanted it at 3 before he can have the surgery to remove the rod. Apparently an infection pocket burst earlier in the week. There are two places on the back of his leg where it really looks infected inside.  He is to see another doctor on Monday and then the doctors will talk and try to figure out what to do. It may require surgery to remove infection. I guess it is even possible that may be as early as next week. The home nurse has extended his home care and home physical therapy for a while longer - how long will be determined later.   I will update more just as soon as I hear it.

Just in from Terry...    Monday  Sept. 24
He has just come from the doctors office and if they can get things lined up quickly, he will go in the hospital tomorrow and have surgery on Wednesday to remove infection and the rod / steel that is in his leg. This way he won't have to know he has to have another surgery later to remove the rod and the infection will be cleaned out again. Maybe the infection keeps going to the rod area and the rod will no longer be there!!   I will post again (hopefully later today) just as soon as he knows whether it is all scheduled.

Terry has pre-op today (Tuesday) at 11:00 and does get to stay home tonight. Surgery is scheduled for 1:00 on Wednesday.  More detail later in the day after the pre-op visit.
