Breakfast at Cavalier Cafe before heading out of Meadows of Dan. This day was alot of riding but it was different than the parkway. There was much farmland and Christmas tree farms. We went thru Sparta, NC where they were having a fall festival.    Some fun shots...

Lunch in Boone at the Dan'l Boone Inn - Family style and very delicious. We walked around in Boone a while before mounting up. It was cool when we started out this morning but now is very warm. The leathers came off as soon as we stopped!  Next stop is Blowing Rock.

Blowing Rock story is a love story like Lovers Leap and Pocohantas but with the tale ending that the winds were so strong they blew the lover back up into the arms of the maiden.

You can see some fall colors below but not as much color as I would think for this time of year.

Our motel tonight is a school that has been converted into a motel. The room was very large, clean and comfortable. There was a school theme - a lot of "class"!   A river separates the motel from town so we had a long bridge to cross as we walked to supper. A train went under just as we crossed, shaking the bridge.  We only saw two resturants open in the whole little town but the sandwich shop was very good.
