Thursday Nov. 29 I just talked with Dennis and he has had a pretty good day. He had just finished a session of physical therapy. He has had several outings to church and lunch and said the outings don't tire him as much as he thought they would. When he goes back to the doctor and is told he can begin putting weight on his leg he expects to have some outpatient physical therapy at Roger C. Peace to learn new tricks. They taught him many ways to do things without getting hurt that were quite ingenious. And to make things simpler for him. He is really blessed to have had such a serious injury and be doing as well as he is at this time.

Wednesday - Dec. 5 Dennis had a good day today and had company when I talked with him late this afternoon. He had been asked about coming to the Harley meeting last night but has not attempted more than a few steps at a time and uses a walker rather than crutches. He is getting around quite well for all he has been through. He is very optimistic and thankful that he is healing so fast.

Modern day miracle is about the only way to describe the recovery of Dennis. He was in the parade today (in a truck) and spent hours with us. It is wonderful that he was able to be out for so long and hold up like he did. Much of his day was spent standing with his walker - some of the time in his wheelchair but is really doing good. He will probably sleep really good tonight!

Dennis is continuing to improve by leaps and bounds. Just this week the doctor gave him the "green light" to begin walking again without the use of his walker. He can now begin the process of rebuilding his strength in his left side and regaining muscle tone that was lost.
His attitude continues to be top notch as he continues to heal.
Before you know it, he will be back in the wind again on two wheels.

Oh thanks for that report! I haven't gotten to talk with him just recently. He is truly an inspiration.

Dennis called yesterday to report that the neck brace is gone, the shell around his back and chest are now gone and he has complete movement with no pain. He has been given permission to drive his truck/car and is very excited and also thankful for his speedy recovery.
His positive attitude all along and strong faith has been a big, big part of his recovery. He has worked hard to get this far and there is no slowdown in his future either. It will be a while longer before he is given permission by his doctors (or Abbey) to begin even thinking about two wheels again. However, you can bet your bottom dollar that he will be back quicker than most everyone thought.
Dennis, you should be a poster child for those who have hills to climb on the way to complete recovery.

Now that Dennis has been released from his constraints of braces and can drive, he is out and about and I am sure making plans about his next bike. He has been a miracle and such a wonder to see. If you ever question modern day miracles, check out Dennis and you will know you have seen one in the works. Keep praying for his complete recovery!

We knew it was just a matter of time before Dennis was back on a bike. He has his new one now and has already been getting some "in the saddle" time again. He is amazing...
Here is a picture of him and his new bike Thursday at Greenville Harley Davidson
