Reno, Nevada Part 2

Views from the mountain top of the city of Reno and surrounding area show the barren land with show capped mountains in the distance. The bright yellow of the blooms stand out vividly against the brown land color. It was a beautiful view and a great photo opportunity.

Virginia City - A true "western" little town.

Virginia City is an experience of going back in history. Let the adventure begin
with a step back in time.

Local events include 3 days of Camel racing in September. We only missed this by about a week. This year will be the 49th annual for the camel races. There are World Championship Outhouse Races in October, Train rides (Silver Line Express), tours, museums and many saloons make this a true western adventure.

The museum had some great artifacts and information and we spent a good little while in it. Then we browsed the main street.

As we headed down main street to leave town, we heard music in the Bucket of Blood Saloon
(www.casinocity.com) so we entered to see what was going on. People were dressed in total cowboy gear all the way down to the spurs and guns. REAL guns. Smith & Wessons, Rugers, and such. I was hoping no one got mad so we wouldn't be in the middle of a real gun fight. It was a great place. Singing, dancing, etc.
