Those feathery things you see in the trees and yard - did you look closely at them? There are soooo many different kinds and colors with interesting habits. I like to see how many different ones I can find.....

Many birds took baths in the backyard fountain. They would scamper around looking for food
in the grass.

Some of these birds are pretty common for us but some only pass through during migration so the
window of opportunity to see them is slim.

There beaks are formed differently for the kind of food they eat. Ever watched them eat bird food? They break it open to get the seed out of the shell.

All but about 6 or 7 were taken in my yard. One particular day there were 6 Red Wing Black birds out there at one time but that is the only time I have seen that many.  Was the eagle in the wild that you took the picture of (from the beach)?

Good morning, no the Eagle is at Brookgreen Gardens. It is an injured bird that will remain there forever. Ten after they die, Brookgreen contacts the federal government to place the remains with an Indian tibe for their ceremony. They have a list of places to send the ramains to.
Thanks for asking.

Several places we have been to we have seen eagles in the wild and I don't really know the areas they are native to. That is neat they are used for Indian ceremonies.  I need to dig out some pictures we took at the Grand Canyon of California Condors. They have about a 6' wing span. Massive birds.
